"As a mother of five, I thought I was well versed in parenting until my fifth child was not speaking at the age of two. One day, I was with Tegan and my youngest threw a tantrum when I couldn't figure out what she wanted. Tegan, full of empathy and a desire to help, began to work with our family and help us navigate doctor appointments and therapies with a Speech Language Pathologist. Tegan was also the first person to teach my daughter Megan a way to refer to herself. The light in her eyes when she had a name for herself that she could say (me-me) and a name for Tegan (Tee-Tee) was an amazing thing to witness. This was many years ago and Megan is in fifth grade now. She is excelling in school and I attribute much of her success to Tegan's work with her and our family in those early years of development. We are forever grateful." -Amy Hecky
“I’m so glad that we reached out to MamaBrava for help. Tegan approached our situation with empathy, compassion and experience. She reassured me that I was doing the right thing and that it was OK to stand up for my children and for myself. I had no idea how emotionally draining this dispute with my kid’s school would be, and Tegan was there with me through every step of the process. She knew how to navigate the system and make my arguments more effective. I thought I could do this on my own, but was in way over my head. Without guidance from MamaBrava, we would not have had such a positive resolution to our conflict. I couldn’t be happier with the service we received. Thank you!” -Anonymous Mom
"I cannot recommend Tegan Corradino enough to any parent who is trying to navigate the educational and emotional landscape of their child's challenges. For my family, we consider Tegan one of our daughter Kalea's "angels" as Tegan provided not only emotional support but a clearly defined strategy to help us advocate for her. Kalea went deaf at age 5 and Tegan was a godsend in bringing me up to speed in what resources she was entitled to in the public school system. She also encouraged us to learn ASL while she was enrolled in an oral deaf preschool program, as well as educating us on what we could do to help her at home. She was someone I could call when I needed support, and she helped give me perspective that my daughter was going to be just fine during some intense and emotional moments as we were navigating those early years. I am happy to say that Kalea, at 17, is fully mainstreamed in her 11th grade class while continuing to receive accomodations as she received a cochlear implant at age 5 1/2. I would be happy to speak to any parent who is thinking of hiring Tegan to help them as I can never repay Tegan for how she helped our family." -Jane Zeender
“For years my gut said there something "off" in the way our oldest daughter learned but because she managed very well, we justified it as nothing, as we were overthinking it. Afterall, kids learn differently and siblings certainly are not all the same, right? Heck, she was enrolled in a Spanish Immersion program starting in Kindergarten where 75% of her day was spent learning in spanish and she was enjoying and embracing it. When it came time to start to read and write in english (2nd grade), it took her more effort to master higher level learning. It was not until her sister went through the immersion program and could flip back and forth effortlessly that we thought maybe there was a "disconnect". Kendall was in middle school and the idea of getting help was not well received. We convinced her to try brain training and it was very effective and gave her much needed confidence but it was not a fix all solution. We moved to Colorado for High School and she adjusted beautifully. She did however start to mention that certain parts of school were hard for her and was starting to think of herself as the dumb one in the family and at school. Standardized testing was the last straw. She was convinced college was not for her and it was a waste of money. In steps Tegan Corradino. Her guidance and encouragement were not only helpful and on point but so reassuring, and so very needed. As they say, you don't know what you don't know! Because of her kind approach yet frank advice, Kendall was able to talk openly about her issues and became willing to try different options. Tegan completely understood what we needed to do and how to go about doing it. Kendall was tested and sure enough, diagnosed with a reading issue. Her assessment gave her access to more time, audio books, and personal help at college. She was able to start college with her much needed toolbelt in order to take classes with confidence! She is now a Sophomore at DU and has maintained a 4.0. She swims club, holds an office in her sorority, is a tour guide and helps organize DU programming. The best part is though...We are completely hands off and she LOVES her classes! Oh, I never thought I would say Kendall loves school. Tegan was so instrumental in Kendall discovering she did not have to fly under the radar and just muddle through. Learning differences simply make you different - not incapable and certainly, not dumb! We will be forever grateful for Tegan's guidance and expertise!” - Proud Parents, Tricia and Eric
“I really enjoyed working with Tegan because she listened a lot and really understood what I was going through. She was super kind and explained the process well. She checked in on me to make sure I was doing ok and was always willing to listen if I needed her to. I am loving DU and exploring new subjects. I know where the resources are if I need them and I have helped other students face their differences. Thanks Tegan! You Rock! ;)” -Kendall DU class of 2023
